CRICKET .... "CCC 1st XI Twenty20 1/4 Final"

 

After 3 consecutive wins in the Surrey Championship Twenty20 cup competition the 1st XI have progressed to the 1/4 Final stage and will play Premier League outfit Wimbledon (currently 3rd in Championship Premier League). The game will be played at home on Thursday 22nd July starting at 5.30pm. This is a massive game for the club with the winner progressing to 'finals day' where both semi finals will take place followed by the grand final! It would be great to see as much support as possible on Thurs to cheer on the guys while enjoying a pint and a burger from 'Brains BBQ inc'! We have home advantage - lets make use of it!

CRICKET .... "Peplow in a blazer! Whatever next - an England World Cup win?!"

The new CCC old skool 'baggy blue' caps arrived at the weeked and above you can see 2nd XI skipper Peplow presenting his to Chris '4 week lead time' Connelly. Surely this attire must be the way to go for all pre match tossing of the coin from now on?! Chessy bringing tradition back! What next .... cravats!?

 CRICKET .... "CCC Golf Society is back!!!!"

 

A message from Dan Yarnley:

 

The CCC Golf Society is back and I want to get some early commitment as there's a fair bit going on this summer.  It's a little more expensive this year as we are traveling a little further out but in return we are playing a very, very nice course, getting more to eat, better and more prizes and our own private room.  We need a minimum of 16 for this to happen although aiming for 20 so the more the merrier. I need definate answers and (£20 deposit by Sunday 20th June)
 
Now the details ....
 
Date - Friday 13th August (unlucky for some or possibly very lucky!!)
Venue - Cottesmore Golf & Country Club (Griffin Course - a full Championship course!)
Times - Bus will be leaving from CCC at 9am and leaving Cottesmore at 8/9pm
Price - £75 per person
Included - Transport to and from venue from CCC, Coffee and Bacon roll on arrival, 18 holes on Griffin course, 2 course meal afterwards, private function room with balcony, prizes (longest drive, nearest pin, winner, runner-up, last place and special competition to be announced nearer the time).
 
Unfortunately if I dont have 16 players by the 20th then this will event will have to be cancelled.

Congratulations to Matt 'Guns' Robinson on making his CCC 2nd XI League debut against Old Emanuel at home last Saturday (5th June). He can be seen being presented with his 2nd XI cap below in a game that the 2's went on to win: -

CRICKET .... "CCC Annual Tour to Bournemouth: 21st - 25th June!!"

 

Its that time of year again when we start to prepare for the annual CCC cricket tour to the sunny seaside town of Bournemouth! Wilco needs to get £50 deposits from people by 1st June at the latest and the attendee list needs to be completed at the club. This year coincides with the England world cup game on the Weds, with games either side on Mon, Tues & Thurs. We were 25 strong last year so in order to get your space confirmed on the mini bus get your deposit in - first come first served! For those that can't make the full week 2 and 3 days can also be accomodated.

 

CRICKET .... "CCC Fantasy Cricket Competition is back!!"

 

The 2010 CCC Fantasy Cricket competiton on back again courtesy of Brillo! Full details can be found in the Cricket Section under 'Fantasy Cricket'. The deadline for entries in Sat 8th May at 10pm so make sure to get all your entries to Brillo beofore then or leave behind the bar for his attention. Lets make sure to get fully involved again this year and see who can take the CCC Fantasy Cricket Champion Title away from last years winner Hoo's Shaboodien! Good luck!

 

CLUB .... "Chessy Cricket & Sports Club Website gets lick of paint!!"

 

As from the 1st March 2010 the CC&SC website has been revised, enhanced, updated, refreshed and just plain added to! You will see that the new menu system allows much easier navigation to all the clubs sections while also retaining the existing detail it contained last year with some extra bits to boot. Take a look around and post any comments, feedback, suggestions on the Forum page (top right on menu). There are still a few bits to add in some areas so please be patient .... once I have the detail I will get it up! Cheers Burgey.
